The company is using biotechnology to make the following products by from biomass: acetone, n-butanol, isopropyl alcohol (IPA), several derivatives of acetone and n-Butanol, and consumer products such as home fuels and nail polish remover.

Green Biologics Ltd uses two primary biotechnologies for their research and development, they are their adaptive laboratory evolution (ALE) technology and their CRISPR-Cas based gene editing technology the company calls "CLEAVE".

On January 21, 2007 Green Biologics Ltd completed a venture capital round with $1.1 million in funding from shareholders investors, angel investors, and The Department of Trade and Industry-led technology Program of the United Kingdom. The funding will be used for the development of biobutanol from cellulosic biomass. The Department of Trade and Industry-led technology Program of the United Kingdom contributed $494,000 out of the $1.1 million in funding.
