Grant Imahara (October 1970 - July 2020) was an American electrical engineer and roboticist. Imahara's career spanned special effects work on major motion pictures including Th Lost World: Jurassic Park, the Star Wars prequels, The Matrix Reloaded, and other films, as part of his work with Industrial Light And Magic (ILM).
Imahara was co-host and member of the build team on the Discovery Channel show MythBusters from 2004 to 2014.
He returned with MythBusters co-hosts Tory Belecci and Kari Byron to co-host the Netflix series White Rabbit Project in 2016.
Imahara and his work made a number of other appearances in media. He was a successful builder of combat robots on the television series BattleBots and constructed a robot for The Late Show, hosted by Craig Ferguson.
Imahara died from the rupture of a brain anurysm on July 14, 2020.
