Good Catch Foods makes 100% plant-based seafood alternatives that are gluten, dairy, and GMO free. Good Catch Foods offers three fresh fish-free tuna products; naked in water, Mediterranean, and olive and herb. They also offer frozen seafood alternatives such as crab-free cakes, fish-free sliders, and fish-free burgers.
Good Catch Foods uses a combination blend of 6 legumes for their products along side algae oil to create a similar omega-3 profiles to real seafood products. These legumes include: peas, soy beans, chickpeas, lentils, fava beans, and navy beans. A legume blend allowed the co-founding chefs, Chad Sarno and Derek Sarno, to create the precise textures for each of Good Catch Food's products.
After agreeing upon ethical, environmental, and market opportunities, Good Catch Foods was founded in New York City in 2016 by 5 people; Chad Sarno, Derek Sarno, Chris Kerr, Marci Zaroff, and Eric Schnell.
According to Good Catch Foods, their mission is to "Preserve the ocean’s natural resources while introducing awesomely delicious “seafood” choices that benefit you and the world."
