Igor Viktorovich Godzish was born on November 9, 1969 in the city of Volochisk, Khmelnitsky region, Ukraine.
In 1988-1990 he served in the army in the city of Pechora, Komi Republic.
He began his career in 1990 as an apprentice electrician of the 3rd section of shop No. 13 of the Northern Machine-Building Enterprise in Severodvinsk. At Sevmash, where Igor Viktorovich worked for 21 years, he went from worker to chief power engineer - head of the power-mechanical control department.
In 1994 he graduated from the Severodvinsk Polytechnic College, in 2002 - Sevmashvtuz, a branch of the St. Petersburg State Marine Technical University, having received a qualification as an economist with a degree in Information Systems in Economics.
In 2007, at the Pomor State University. M.V. Lomonosov passed professional retraining under the Presidential program for training managerial personnel in the specialty "Management in business".
In 2009, he graduated from the Institute for the Training and Retraining of Specialists for the Defense Complex of the State University Higher School of Economics under the program "Management of reformed enterprises of the military-industrial complex".
With the direct participation of Godzisha, a large complex of works was carried out to reconstruct and ensure the uninterrupted operation of power supply systems for slipway construction sites, both for nuclear submarines and for large-capacity surface ships.
For conscientious work and a great personal contribution to the development of production, he was repeatedly encouraged by the management of the enterprise and the industry, he was awarded the Certificates of Honor of the Ministry of Industry and Energy of the Russian Federation and the Governor of the Arkhangelsk Region.
In November 2009, by decree of the President of Russia, Igor Godzish was awarded the Honorary Title of Honored Power Engineer of the Russian Federation.
Since March 2012, he has been appointed Minister of Energy and Communications of the Arkhangelsk Region, since July 2013 - Minister of the Fuel and Energy Complex, Housing and Communal Services of the Arkhangelsk Region.
In 2013, he completed training at the Moscow School of Management SKOLKOVO under the integrated program "Prospects for the Arkhangelsk Region: Development Strategy and Resources".
On November 25, at a session of the Council of Deputies in the city administration, Igor Godzish was elected the new mayor of Arkhangelsk.
Married, has a son and a daughter.
