GlobeSherpa was a software company that focuses on mobile payments in several different forms such as transit, parking, local event destination payments, etc... The company was founded in 2010 by Michael Gray and Nat Parker, in Portland, Oregon.



The company specialized in mobile application development for transit agencies and parking management companies. In 2010, they released their platform technology to allow open payments, open data, and mobile fare collection on a minimal infrastructure investment. Globe Sherpa also operated on an online platform, as well as a mobile application.



Globe Sherpa is a company that participated in the Portland Seed Fund 03/01/12 cohort and raised an estimated $5,615,000.



GlobeSherpa was acquired by RideScout, a company owned by Daimler. The two brands merged into a single company, Moovel. Moovel's capabilitites rely on GlobeSherpa's transit platform, and allows users to hail a Lyft ride or reserve a car2go within the TriMet app. Moovel treats transportation as if it is an ecosystem with interconnected modes across a city.
