George Petrovich Vins is a hereditary religious dissident, Baptist presbyter, writer and poet. He was one of the leaders of the Protestant underground in the USSR, the general secretary of the illegal Council of Churches of Evangelical Christian Baptists, co-organizer of the protest action of Evangelical Baptist Christians near the building of the Central Committee of the CPSU on May 16-17, 1966, one of the leaders of the samizdat publishing house "Christian", founder and leader Russian mission of evangelism.
