Gemma Frisius Fund is a seed capital firm based in Leuven, Belgium. The firm is a joint venture of Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (Catholic University of Leuven), and banks KNC Group and BNP Paribas Group. The firm primarily provides funding to help spin-off companies conceptualized at Katholieke Universiteit Leuven get established and grow. It does not target a specific technology sector, any intellectual property developed at KU Leuven is eligble for funding from the Gemma Frisius Fund. In 2019, it was reported that the fund has provided capital for 124 spin off companies since its founding in 1997.
