Fundrise is an online real estate investment platform. It was founded in 2010 by Benjamin Miller, Brandon Jenkins, Daniel Miller, and Kenny Shin. The company is headquartered in Washington, D.CD.C. Users can access the platform through the Fundrise website and mobile app.

In 2014, Fundrise raised $31 million in its first round of funding.

In May 2020, amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, Fundrise released a three phase investment strategy to investors that detailed the company's pandemic investment plan. Phase I of the plan was to "maximize near term flexibility" through investments in public markets and structured debt.

Phase II was structured to maintain stability and increase yields through investment in distressed debt and private market rescue/bridge loans. Phase III was designed to capitalize on opportunities for higher potential return in undervalued properties that Fundrise intended to hold long-term.
