Perfume brand "Editions de Parfums Frédéric Malle" was founded in 2000 to create new perfume classics. Frédéric Malle invited the best perfumers to bring their dream fragrances to life.
Frédéric Malle was the man who made the "perfume like a book" metaphor come into its own in the most tangible way possible. Frédéric himself represents the third generation of perfume specialists in his family and is a world authority on perfume making.
History.
In 1988, Frederic began his career in the perfume industry. He got a job at Roure, which in two years will become part of the famous Givaudan concern - today this giant is considered the world's largest manufacturer of fragrances for perfumery, food and chemical industries.
At first, 26-year-old Mal worked in the sales department, then got the opportunity to assist the masters in creating fragrances. Among them were, for example, Yves Saint Laurent and Nina Ricci.
In general, Frederic was connected with the world of smells from the very birth. His grandfather was a childhood friend of Christian Dior and was at the forefront of Parfums Christian Dior. Mother worked for the same brand until 2003, designing bottles.
What happened next?
Working at Roure was a turning point in Frederick's life. He gained experience and met the best of the best. It was then that the idea came to Frederic Mallu's head to become a "publisher" of perfumery works.
In 2000, the perfume "publishing house" Editions de Parfums Frederic Malle was founded. A little later, nine fragrances were released under this brand at once. Someone called the aromas shocking, someone - incomparable.
We must not forget that Frederic was and remains not only a connoisseur of perfumery, but also an excellent marketer and sales specialist. For example, the design – the bottles of Editions de Parfums Frederic Malle are recognizable, minimalist and elegant.
Many fragrances of Editions de Parfums Frederic Malle were liked not only by clients, but also by critics.
Perfumer Dominique Ropion, with the support of Editions de Parfums Frederic Malle, has released a fragrance that has turned into a living embodiment of the brand for a mass audience - a trailing, solemn Portrait of a Lady.
Four years later, after the release of the main bestseller Portrait of a Lady, Frederic Male's brand became part of the beauty giant Estée Lauder Companies.
Does Frederic Malle test on animals?
Frederic Malle is NOT cruelty free, they test their products on animals.
The most important fragrances.
It is worth noting the composition Musc Ravageur, which is the fruit of work with Maurice Rusel. It was published in 2000 and carries the spirit of the East. Envelops with a bouquet of vanilla, cinnamon, musk, amber with fresh notes of mandarin and bergamot.
Among the most significant creations, consumers note Lipstick Rose and Une Rose, presented in 2003. Some associate the composition with a walk in the summer garden, others with a picnic in the alley of roses.
Especially attracted by Lys Mediterranee, which is often compared to the smell of the sea, relaxation and travel. The pyramid contains sea lily, vanilla and orange notes, which in combination are simply captivating.
Who owns Frederic Malle perfumes now? The Estée Lauder Companies Inc. (2015-...)
Malle makes his fragrances á la carte with a dozen different perfumers, giving them complete freedom and a basically unlimited budget for ingredients. “We are true luxury. It's a bit more expensive because we use caviar rather than regular sliced ham,” says Malle.
