Evolv Technology is a Massachusetts-based company with security products that can detect both metallic and non-metallic threats. It also produces facial recognition technology so that people of interest within various contexts can be detected and handled accordingly. Places that can utilize Evolv Technology software include transportation points, sports arenas, entertainment venues, hotels, conference centers, airports, and government agencies.
The company has multiple products, such as the Evolv Edge and Evolv Pinpoint. The Evolv Edge detects bombs and weapons. It is a self-contained system through which people entering busy spaces can walk. The machine can process up to 800 people per hour and eliminates the need for taking objects out of pockets or bags. People walking through the system do not need to stop of pause due to the millimeter wave scanner used in the Evolv Edge. This system also has cameras built into it for facial recognition that can match faces to local data that is entered.
The Evolv Pinpoint is a system that uses facial recognition as well and takes pictures of everyone who walks through it. The photo is shown to the guard on a tablet and compared to a database so that appropriate measures or lack thereof can be taken. There are three color-coded alert categories from which guards can choose to categorize each person. The database to which the system compares faces can be uploaded via a USB.
