Eva Gonzalès - French impressionist artist.
Eva Gonzalez was born on April 19, 1849 in Paris. She grew up in a musical family; her father Emmanuel Gonzalez, a Spaniard by birth, was a writer, and her mother, originally from Belgium, was engaged in music. The salon of the family was visited by Theodore de Banville and the director of the newspaper "Siècle" Philippe Jourdet.
In 1865, at the age of 16, Eva Gonzalez began studying graphics and painting in the studio of the artist Charles Chaplin, who taught exclusively female students. In 1869, she moved into her own atelier.
