Ettifos is a 5G-focused vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communications solutions provider founded in 2018. Ettifos is developing the V2X technology to allow electric and autonomous vehicles to work more seamlessly with the transportation system. The company's aim is to utilize this technology to connect road users to improve road safety and traffic efficiency, better autonomous driving, and lower emissions.
In 2019, Ettifos released the world's first mobile app-based V2X solution, which gives users easy access to V2X communication from Simulink and enables graphical analysis of V2X-specific data in ControlDesk. It will assist system developers and mobile service providers in deploying commercial units. The company's latest products include Sirius (a 5G NR-V2X test platform) and the Smartphone V2X Device (SVD).
The founders of Ettifos are CEO Dr. Yongje Kim and CTO Hojun Kim. Dr. Kim was a member of the executive management team at various start-ups and companies, such as Samsung Electronics and POSDATA. He earned his Ph.D. in electrical engineering at the University of Washington and his Master's and Bachelor's degrees in control and instrumentation engineering at Seoul National University. Hojun Kim was previously an engineer and senior manager in telecommunications and semiconductors. He holds a Master's degree in electrical engineering and a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Minnesota.
