DuckDuckGo

DuckDuckGo is an internet privacy company founded by Gabriel Weinberg.

DuckDuckGo started as an Internet search engine that emphasizes protecting searchers' privacy and avoiding the filter bubble of personalized search results. In 2018 it released a browser extension and mobile that protect privacy beyond search, by blocking third-party trackers, enforcing encryption where possible, and showing a privacy grade for each website visited.

DuckDuckGo is a remote-working company and makes its search traffic publicly available. It also makes annual donations to privacy-related organizations.

Products

  • DuckDuckGo Search: Private web search.
  • DuckDuckGo Privacy Essentials: Private browsing offered as an extension for desktop browsers, and mobile app for iOS and Android.
