Competitors use First Person View in the races generate custom-made drones that race at over 90 miles per hour and race through 3D courses. There are two drone products: The Racer3 and The RacerX. The Racer3 has a high-voltage power train, LED lights, a polycarbonate shell, and hardware and software for radio capabilities. The RacerX is made of carbon fiber, copper wire, and fasteners. It is capable of electronic speed control and has a T motor. 18 pilots compete each season, but only 10 can advance to the championship. Pilots can enter the championship by winning races or obtaining the most amount of points.
The Drone Racing League runs its races at various locations throughout the world and has video-game inspired courses. Races can be viewed on outlets such as NBC Sports, Twitter, Sky Sports, ProSieben, and Group AB.
