Digital polymerase chain reaction (digital PCR)

A method for absolute nucleic acid quantification where individual analyte molecules are diluted and partitioned into many replicate reactions so that one or zero molecules are present in most reactions. After endpoint PCR amplification, starting template concentrations are calculated using Poisson statistical analysis.
