Deutsche Beteiligungs is a listed private equity firm. They specialize in management buyout and late stage transactions in middle market companies, and prefer to invest across the automotive supplies, machine and plant construction, printing, media, packaging, industrial services and logistics, measuring and automation technology sectors.
Deutsche Beteiligungs typically invests between €50 million and €250 million in companies with revenues between €50 million and €500 million. They do not invest in start-ups or early stage companies.
Deutsche Beteiligungs was founded in 1965 and in 1985 made its initial public offering.
Deutsche Beteiligungs has made investments in Plant Systems & Services, inexio, DNS:Net, Oechsler, Cleanpart Group, Novopress, JCK Holding, Mageba, R&M International and Vitronet Group.
They have exited their investments in inexio, Grohmann Engineering and R&M International.
Deutsche Beteiligungs have raised investment funds since their founding in 1965. Their first three funds, DBG Fonds I, DBG Fonds II and DBG Fonds II, vintage 1965, 1975 and 1998 respectively, were structured differently than their modern funds. The funds raised DM473 million, DM139 million and DM283 million respectively and have all been realised.
DBAG Fund IV, launched in 2002 at €328 million followed the structure and investor base the rest of their funds follow. They have also launched their DBAG Fund V in 2006 at €539 million, their DBAG ECF in 2011 at €213 million, their DBAG Fund VI in 2012 at €700 million, their DBAG ECF First New Vintage in 2016 at €85 million, their DBAG Fund VII in 2016 at €1.01 billion and their DBAG ECF Second New Vintage in 2018 at €97 million.
Deutsche Beteiligungs has acquired duagon, netzkontor nord GmbH, Karl Eugen Fischer, Von Poll Immobilien, FLS, Kraft & Bauer, SERO Schroder Elektronik Rohrbach, Cloudflight.io and Cartonplast Group.
