David Stachura, PhD is a Professor at California State University Chico, Scientific Consultant, and the Chief Scientific Officer at SpecBio. David is renowned for his work studying a variety of adult stem cell types in zebrafish, mice, and humans. His company SpecBio uses human-derived stem cell technology to cure a multitude of diseases in humans.
David Stachura started his education at LeHigh University, there he was a part of the well-known Alpha Phi Omega fraternity and received his bachelors degree in Molecular Biology in 2000. Immediately after graduation he began studies at the University of Pennsylvania where he graduated with a PhD in Cell and Molecular Biology in 2006.
David began his career after graduation by becoming a Postdoctoral Fellow at UC San Diego, eventually becoming an Assistant Project Scientist in 2011 where he would stay until 2014. He left UC San Diego to become an Assistant Professor at California State University where he has now become a full time professor since 2022 teaching undergraduate and Master's level students.
David also does work outside of the classroom, he is the Chief Scientific officer of SpecBio which is a company that studies and uses stem cells to cure diseases.
David is well known among his peers for having a variety of hobbies and interests. He is outspoken about how much he enjoys the outdoors, camping, and going cycling. However, many people are surprises to hear about his love for midcentury design, vintage cars, and Italian scooters.
