The genus Cryobacterium comes from the Greek words kryos meaning cold and bakterion. The type species is C. psychrophilum. Cryobacterium is a genus of bacteria of the phylum ActinobacteriaActinobacteria, class Actinobacteria, order Micrococcales and family Microbacteriaceae.
