Collision highlights

Opportunities and events of the Collision conference include the following highlights:

  • Networking—The conference brings together many of the top leaders in the international technology industry, and attendees can connect with industry members they may otherwise not get to meet.
  • Learning and development—The conference includes expert-led workshops and roundtables for attendees to upskill and glean insights from different leaders of a variety of categories of the technology industry. This includes leaders speaking about their success stories and offering thought-provoking conversations.
  • Lead generation—With around 35,000 attendees in 2022, the conference gives attendees the opportunity to connect with individuals and companies that can drive their business forward, including new contacts and leads.
  • Premium content—Collision also offers a chance for attendees to hear from authors, athletes, actors, and musicians to talk about how technology touches other industries.
  • Team building—Collision allows teams to have a shared experience and come together over new ideas from the conference's talks, masterclasses, and roundtables.
  • Brand awareness—Collision offers attendees the chance to put their company or startup's name in front of international media and journalists, not just their peer companies or leading companies in the industry.
Move to Toronto

In 2019, Collision conference moved to Toronto, where the conference was secured for Toronto from 2019 to 2021 and has continued to be hosted there through to 2023. The conference has taken place at the Enercare Centre at the Exhibition Place in Toronto. Further, the announcement garnered support from various offices in Canada and has been seen as a confirmation of Toronto's status as an innovation hub in North America. The city is often seen as the fastest-growing tech region in North America.

COVID-19 and return to in-person

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Collision conference was hosted online twice, during which it was able to bring 25,000 and 40,000 attendees to its platform. In 2022, the conference returned to in-person, marking the largest single international in-person gathering in Toronto since 2020. Speaking on the return of the event, and a return to in-person, Toronto Mayor John Tory said:

This event is an important opportunity for people to engage with decision-makers, learn more about Canada's innovation community, and see firsthand why Toronto's tech community is the fastest growing in North America.
