House of Chloé is often fashion designer and entrepreneur Gaby Aguien seven years after her 1945 move from Egypt to Paris, where she first sewed and sold dresses in small boutiques. In 1952, Gaby Agien with Jacques Lenoir (fr. Jacques Lenoir) takes over the Chloé company and manages large mining in 1985 for the large Swiss holding Richemont.
The chosen name Chloé, according to one version, was associated with the epithet of the ancient Greek goddess Demeter - Chloe (Greek Χλόη) blooming, green. According to another version, Gaby, who considered her name dissonant, chose the name of her close friend Chloe de Brjumeton for the name of the company (fr. Chloe de Brjumeton). But in any case, the style of the Chloé Fashion House is distinguished by qualities that correspond to the Greek ideas of beauty - femininity, warmth and naturalness, the use of free cut from beautiful and high-quality fabrics. Collections of various accessories, including frames and sunglasses, are consistent with the overall spirit of the brand.
It was Gaby Aghien who proposed the concept of ready-to-wear for creating ready-to-wear models launched by fashion designers into mass production, and made ready-made clothes common for modern people. The first show of Chloé took place in 1956. In the 1960s, the founders of the company gathered the first galaxy of talented fashion designers, among whom were Gerard Pipart (fr. Gerard Pipart), Maxima de la Falase (fr. Maxime de la Falaise) and Christian Bailey (fr. Christiane Bailly). In 1966, Karl Lagerfeld took over the creative direction, and Chloé's regular clients included Jackie Kennedy and Brigitte Bardot.
Costumes for special performances of artists were created by various famous couturiers: Coco Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent, Gianni Versace, Alexander McQueen and others. This tradition is continued by the new creative director of Chloé - Natacha Ramsay-Levi (fr. Natacha Ramsay-Levi), a fan of ballet, especially Vaslav Nijinsky.
Chloé collections are diverse in their focus on buyers of different ages and lifestyles. Paris Fashion Week twice a year offers updated lines of expensive ready-to-wear.
