Using state of the art materials and coatings C-K Technologies will eliminate the need to add oil to the fuel mixture in the 2 cycle UAS Group 2 engines which will increase the time between rebuilds from 400 to 1,000 hours. To achieve this goal C-K Technologies' objective for the proposed Phase II effort is to develop sufficient laboratory test results utilizing a Group 2 UAS modified engine. In previous work CKT was able to achieve 400 hours between overhauls versus the original 35 hours on the base engine for a Insitu (Boeing) funded engine program. C-K Technologies plans to work with current Group 2 UAS engine builders and component suppliers to license developed technology to the engine manufacturer and or the component supplier. In the case of the previous program with the Boeing/Insitu, C-K Technologies produced 80 piston rings and worked with a piston supplier to modify pistons and coated piston skirts. The rings were utilized in laboratory testing and then in-flight testing required before being released for production. This technology was released for production in Boeing/Insitu UAV which provides the BlackJack RQ21 for the Navy with a separate UAV the Integrator for commercial use.
