Amazon Lex is a chatbot service by Amazon.com, an American e-commerce company. It enables users to create conversational interfaces into applications using voice and text.
It uses the same deep learning power of Amazon Alexa, a cloud-based voice service by Amazon.com. It utilizes the deep learning functionalities of automatic speech recognition to convert speech to text and natural language understanding (NLU) to recognize the meaning of the text. It allows users to build natural language, conversational bots or chatbots that are appealing and give lifelike conversational experience.
Amazon Lex was launched in November 2016.
