AVP is a venture capital investment firm that seeks to invest in accelerating growth and expansion stage companies. In addition, the firm also serves as an advisor to Pritzker Group Venture Capital (PGVC) and other institutions and family offices.

Led by Steve Brotman, founder, and managing partner, Alpha Venture Partners is a Pro-Rata preemptive rights co-investment firm which provides early-stage venture capital firms with capital to continue to invest in their IPO track portfolio companies and maintain their pro rata rights. The firm, which currently has more than $75m in assets under management, has $50m deployed across eight high-growth companies including Coupang, Vroom, Wish, and LiveIntent.

In total, the Alpha Fund I portfolio companies are growing at a combined 70 percent compound annual growth rate and generating over $6 billion in gross revenue.

It primarily prefers to invest in the software and information technology sectors, including e-commerce, mobile, social, business process outsourcing, information services, and tech-enabled services.

Alpha's venture capital partners benefit from the shared carried interest on capital returns from the investments. Since 2011, AVP also serves as Pritzker Group Venture Capital's east coast advisors for early-stage deals. Alpha Venture Partners has targeted a $100m co-investment fund.

It seeks to invest in the United States. The firm invests between $0.15 million and $2 million in companies. For investments larger than $2 million, it works with institutional and family office limited partners which directly invest up to $50 million with typical first investment between $3 million and $10 million.

The firm seeks to invest in companies with revenues between $5 million and $20 million and less than $2 million in revenue for funds. It seeks to exit within four years. It does not take board seats in portfolio companies. The firm prefers to not be a lead investor and seeks to be a co-investor.
