AGNI Energy Inc. is a company developing a novel nuclear fusion concept to provide clean energy production. Their unique beam-target fusion technology seeks to overcome challenges in fusion reactors and contribute to the fields of Plasma and Nuclear Physics. The company is currently developing a proof-of-concept device to demonstrate the viability of the technology for use in a commercial application.
AGNI's new beam-target fusion approach would use both electrical and magnetic fields to create a hybrid fusion device. The fusion would occur when a beam of deuterium ions hit a target consisting of tritium ions. This process releases high-energy neutrons that heat water to power steam turbines producing electricity. To reduce scatter (lost energy) the team at AGNI plan to adjust the spin polarization of the ions in both the target and beam.
AGNI was found in 2017 by Dimitri Hopkins and is based in Lacey, Washington.
