AirBoard is a Latvian-based startup that builds small manned aircraft called AirBoard - a heavy lift drone platform for enabling urban passenger transportation over the air. In 2017 the team took part in Boost VC, run by the fourth generation venture capitalist Adam Draper and were mentored by the billionaire Tim Draper.
AirBoard is a Latvian-based industrial drone manufacturer specialising in heavy lift drone applications. In 2018 the company released AirBoard AGRO – autonomous agriculture drone for pesticide and fertiliser spraying. The drone has a cargo lifting a capacity of 220 pounds (100 kilograms) that is used for pesticide transportation in-air.
Inspired by the dream of flying in 2015 founder Elviss Straupenieks began working toward his dream of entrepreneurship at the age of 16. He then went on to persuade a Latvian court to recognize him as legally capable of setting up a business, although he was still under the legal age of majority, 18, and became the first person in Latvia to have legally registered a business at the age of 16. Elviss was named as one of the 25 and Under in Northern Europe by Nordic Business Report in 2018.
AirBoard AGRO is co-axial octo-copter and provides a 150 litre per hectare coverage with a productivity of 6 hectares an hour.
In 2017 the team took part in Boost VC, a San Mateo based accelerator, run by the fourth generation venture capitalist Adam Draper and were mentored by the billionaire Tim Draper. In 2018 team was backed by Alchemist Accelerator.
