On May 21, 2015 WayFairWayFair purchased CustomMade, a company specializing is making custom-made goods and artisanal goods, for $150,000. At the time of acquisition WayFare acquired the URL and business of CustomMade. CustomMade made the decision to sell to WayFair to avoid layoffs by allows WayFair to hire the majority of CustomMade's staff.
