Officially the Republic of Turkey, a transcontinental country located in Anatolia in Western Asia, with a part in the Balkans in Southeastern Europe. It borders with Greece, as well as with: Bulgaria in the northwest, the Black Sea in the north, Georgia in the northeast, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Iran in the east, Iraq in the southeast; Syria and the Mediterranean in the south; and the Aegean Sea to the west. Cyprus is located off the south coast.
