Svyatoslav Vakarchuk was born on May 14, 1975 (behind the sign of the horoscope - Taurus) at the same Lviv professor of physics (father - Ivan Vakarchuk - since 1984 the rector of Lviv University named after Ivan Franko). Love cartoon from childhood - "Well, build it!", favorite idols - dad, John Lennon, Jim Morrison, Yuri Gagarin. In the capture of Japanese culture. Favorite authors are Yukio Misima and Haruki Murakami. From six years of pishov at the Lviv elite school, I finished with a silver medal (mav one four in mathematics). I wasn’t a leader, but I got into the school life by zdijsnyuvav - preparing wall newspapers, taking part in KVNakh, created by the school theater, actively playing basketball. Two rockers studied at the music school in the class of the violin, in parallel learning to play the button accordion. May two things of enlightenment (physics of the theorist and economist-internationalist), like learning from the Lviv University.

Theoretical physics left a trace in the musical work of Slavok. The theme of the candidate's dissertation is "Supersymmetry of electrons in a magnetic field". More than that, it became clear from many sources of information that SUSY is not a girl, but an abbreviation like "SUperSYmmetry". The leader of the group Okean Elzy and the author of the mayzhe usikh texts. In the group of yoga, the name is Slavik abo Slavko. I love vegetables and fruits, dark beer (z mіtsnih napoіv - "Krivava Meri"), book by Baron Münghausen, Edith Piaf, Stone Roses, basketball, highway Kyiv-Lviv. Naydorozhcha nasoloda, if you can afford it - be at once with a kohanoy people. Not to love licorice pepper, Irina Alegrova and Hollywood action movies. According to the rating of the journalist "Corespondent", Svyatoslav Vakarchuk is included in the Top 100 as one of the most prominent and most famous people in Ukraine.

Svyatoslav is a social activist and lead vocalist for Okean Elzy, the most successful rock band in Ukraine. People of the Future’s programs include: “Knyga Tvoryt’ Lyudynu” (A Book Creates A Man), “Osvita Krainoyu” (The Country’s Education), “3-D Proekt. Dumay, Diy, Dopomogai.” (3-D Project. Think, Act. In 2003, Slava became an Honorary Ambassador of Culture in Ukraine. In 2005 he was named a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Development Programme and became a member of the Parliamentary Committee on Freedom of Expression and Information – in early September 2008, he renounced his seat in the Verkhovna Rada party due to a corrupt political climate. In parliamentary elections in 2007, he appeared as an independent candidate on the Our Ukraine–People’s Self-Defense Bloc’s list.

The Ukrainian magazine Korrespondent ranks him as one of the 100 most influential people of Ukraine. Svyatoslav holds a degree in theoretical physics and has released eight studio albums with his band.
