Sandboxels

Sandboxels is a falling-sand simulator that can be played in a browser. The game features heat simulation, electricity, density, chemical reactions, cooking, and a fire spread. With about 500 elements to play with, there are various interactions between the different materials, plants, animals, fluids, and powders in the game.

The falling-sand game is a genre of sandbox games characterized by falling particles of different kinds. Users click or utilize their touchscreens to choose a category, like liquids, and then select an element, like water. They then drag on the canvas above in order to place their pixels and watch them interact with others.

Sandboxels possesses different applications in education, as it helps give students an understanding of emerging phenomena in various fields, like biology, chemistry, ecology, geology, cooking, and virology.
