Coleman is married to Susan Williamson and has two children, Jamilleah and Valencia Daniel. During his bodybuilding career, he has won the prestigious IFBB Mr. Olympia title eight times consecutively from 1998 to 2005.
In June 2020, Coleman disclosed that he is unable to walk without assistance, attributing it to botched surgeries. He expressed doubts about walking in the future and cited costly surgeries, totaling $2 million, as contributing factors to his condition.
