Real Betis Balompié, known as Real Betis or just Betis, is a Spanish professional football club based in Seville in the autonomous community of Andalusia. Founded in 1907, it plays in La Liga, having won the Segunda División in the 2014–15 season.
The motto of the club's fans is "Long live Betis, even when he loses!" (Spanish: "¡Viva el Betis manque pierda!")
Honorary members of the club are the Spanish monarchs: the former - Juan Carlos I and his son, the current King of Spain — Philip VI.
Betis is the only team that participated and became the winner in the first three Spanish leagues (Primera, Segunda and Tercera).
