Raoul Walsh was an American film director, actor, screenwriter, film producer, and a founder of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Born on November 3, 1887, in New York City, his birth name was Albert Edward Walsh. Raoul Walsh held United States nationality and citizenship .
Walsh's directing career included work on films such as "What Price Glory?", "The Innocent Sinner", "The Pseudo Prodigal", and "The Silent Lie". He also directed "The Mystery of the Hindu Image", "Blue Blood and Red", "The Honor System", and "On the Jump". Some more notable films under his direction include "The Thief of Bagdad", "The Roaring Twenties", "They Died with Their Boots On", "Objective, Burma!", and "White Heat".
In addition to his directorial work, Walsh was also the author of the film "Sadie Thompson". He passed away on December 31, 1980, in Simi Valley, California.
