PAI Partners is a Paris-based investment firm founded in 1931. The firm invests in companies globally and manages over €25 billion of dedicated buyout funds. Since 1994, the firm has completed ninety investments in eleven countries, representing over €70 billion in transaction value.
PAI has eight offices around the world, including Paris, London, Luxembourg, Madrid, Milan, Munich, New York, and Stockholm. The firm began operations in 1931 and was originally known as Paribas, founded in 1872. Paribas contributed to the industrialization of France in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. In 1998, PAI raised its first third-party private equity fund, the PAI LBO Fund. After BNP and Paribas merged, PAI's partners completed a management buyout of the fund management company in 2001.
