The Myrspinner
What began one spring day in 1949 when Paul Johansson sat filing a dessert spoon, developed into Paul’s
Sportdepot in Simlångsdalen, Sweden. That spring day heralded the birth of the Myrspinner, and so started
a chapter in Swedish sport fishing history which is still unfinished. The Myrspinner was soon followed by others, and today there is a large family of spinners. Wipp, Agat, Panter, Lilla My, Toni, Mira, Akka, Toni Z,
Pilot, Tuna Lax and Sting are all marketed under the “Myran” brand name, each one bearing a Paul Johansson
signature design, which is either patented or pattern protected. Since 2001 Sportsystem, and the Elmervik-Johansson family in Huskvarna, has taken over the production and sales for Myran both nationally and
internationally. The spirit of Paul Johansson lives on in these products that have always been and still are
“Made in Sweden”.
