The 2022 Mid-Season Invitational was held in Busan, South Korea,from May 20th to 29th, 2022.In the final, Royal Never Give Up won the championship 3–2, becoming the first team to win three MSI titles, and the second team to successfully defend their title.

The 2019 League of Legends Mid-Season Invitational was held in Vietnam and Taiwan.Four teams from IG in China (LPL), SKT in Korea (LCK), G2 in Europe (LEC) and TL in North America (LCS) advanced to the knockout round.In the end, G2 defeated TL 3:0 in the final and won the championship of the 2019 MSI Mid-Season Invitational.

The 2018 League of Legends Mid-Season Invitational moved to Europe. The final was played on 20th May 2018, hosted in the Zénith Paris. In the end, Chinese team RNG won 3- 1 defeated KZ, which is the second championship won by LPL after 2015.

The 2017 Mid-Season Invitational was held in Brazil from April 8th to May 21st, 2017, with a total prize money of US$1690000. The champion of this competition is SK Telecom T1, the runner-up is G2 Esports, and Team WE and Flash Wolves tied for third place.

The 2016 Mid-Season Invitational was held at the Oriental Sports Center in Shanghai, China from May 4th to 14th, 2016, with a total prize money of US$450000. In the championship match of the competition, SK Telecom T1 from South Korea defeated Counter Logic Gaming from North America 3:0 and won the championship. At the same time, SK Telecom T1 also became the first Grand Slam team in the history of League of Legends.
