He studied at the University of Paris and has dual citizenship in Switzerland and France. Some of his well-known work includes Fool's mate, Le Château de verre, Paris Belongs to Us, Cléo from 5 to 7, and Le Signe du Lion. He has used the pseudonym Hans Luca.
