Ivan Goncharov

Ivan Goncharov (born Ivan Alexandrovich Goncharov on June 6, 1812) was a Russian writer, novelist, and critic. He was born in Ulyanovsk and held citizenship in the Russian Empire. Goncharov received his education at Moscow State University. Over his career, he was involved in various genres of writing, including articles in publishing, sketch stories, and novels.

Goncharov is best known for his notable works "Oblomov", "A Common Story", and "The Precipice". He was the author of all three novels. His literary works were influential in the cultural development of 19th-century Russia.

Ivan Goncharov passed away on September 15, 1891, in Saint Petersburg.
