Hannah Arendt

Hannah Arendt (born October 14, 1906, in Hanover, Germany, and died December 4, 1975, in Upper West Side, United States) was a philosopher, historian, writer, and journalist known for her significant contributions to political philosophy and her work as an author, essayist, and sociologist . She held citizenship in Germany, the United States, and briefly experienced statelessness .

Arendt was educated at Heidelberg University, the University of Freiburg, and the University of Marburg . Among her notable works are , , , , and . She also wrote a piece on natality in population ecology . Her doctoral student was Elisabeth Young-Bruehl .
