Cooper was a four-year member of the Upper Dublin High School team. He was an NISCA All-American each year from 2010-2014. Cooper was also the PIAA State record holder in the 200 medley relay and helped his team to a pair of District Championships. He was a two-time Scholastic All-American in high school and member of the National Honors Society.
