UJET is a San FranciscoSan Francisco based start up founded in 2015. In February 2018, UJET raised $25M in their Series B. The round was led by GV (formerly known as Google Ventures). Other participants in the round include returning investors Kleiner Perkins and DCM Ventures and new backer Citi Ventures. The round brings UJET's total raised so far to more than $45 million.

VegInvest is a venture capital firm making early stage investments in products and services which replace the use of animal products. They invest in food technology and biotechnology companies working to improve the taste, safety, and cost of plant-based products. VegInvest also invests in restaurants and fast food chains offering plant-based alternatives to traditional animal-based food products. Notable companies VegInvest has invested in include: New Wave Foods, Geltor, Super Meat, Just Inc., No Evil FoodsNo Evil Foods, and Mosa Meat.

George Church is Professor of Genetics at Harvard Medical School and Director of PersonalGenomes.org, which provides open-access information on human Genomic, Environmental & Trait data (GET). He received his PhD from Harvard in 1984. He has contributed to many DNA sequencing methods and companies, including CGI-BGI, Life, IlluminaIllumina, and Nanopore. He is director of an IARPA BRAIN Project and NIH Center for Excellence in Genomic Science. His honors include election to NAS & NAE & Franklin Bower Laureate for Achievement in Science. He has coauthored 453 papers, 105 patent publications & one book, Regenesis.
